Jess's Best EVER Slow Roasted Ribs

Updated: Jun 15, 2020

These foolproof ribs are a fix-it and forget-it meal sure to please any guest. Fall off the bone and full of flavor, this recipe will be one you return to again and again.

1 rack of baby back style ribs

Foil

2 T Butt Rub dry rub (or dry rub of choice)

1/2 c Sweet Baby Rays Honey BBQ Sauce (or sauce of choice)

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Cover a large baking sheet with foil for easy clean-up. Tear off an additional sheet to encase ribs. Remove fatty silver skin from the back of the rib rack using a butter knife. Season ribs all over with dry rub and place rack on second sheet of foil. Wrap and seal ribs rightly before placing on baking sheet. Bake ribs for 3.5 hours.

Remove and check meat for tenderness. Cook 30 minutes more if needed. Remove baking sheet and turn oven to broil. Peel back foil covering ribs and siphon off grease if desired. Baste top of ribs with BBQ sauce and place under broiler. Cook for 3-4 minutes, watching carefully, until sauce begins to bubble and caramelize. Remove baking sheet, baste in sauce, and place back under broiler. Repeat steps 2-3 times until ribs are glazed to personal preference, being careful to watch ribs closely as they easily burn.

Cut in 2-3 rib sections and plate alongside summer favorites such as mashed potatoes, green beans, and fresh cut corn.
